Season 6 of Notaufnahme: Samstagnacht starts on 3 September

Whilst discussions are taking place across the country about changes and cost-cutting measures in the healthcare system, the DMAX documentary “A&E: Saturday Night” reveals the reality behind the reform debates.

The sixth series follows teams in eleven German hospitals through the most critical hours of the weekend and documents how medical staff, under time pressure, with heavy workloads and in unpredictable emergency situations, make daily decisions that have an immediate impact on patient care.

This successful documentary about the unsung heroes of the long nights – who master their demanding daily routines with great dedication, team spirit and the highest level of medical expertise – will be shown on DMAX from 3 September, every Thursday from 8.15 pm in double episodes. As an integral part of the popular ‘emergency services’ genre, ‘A&E: Saturday Night’ kicks off an action-packed autumn on DMAX, with new series of the hit programmes ‘112: Fire Brigade in Action’, ‘Speed Cops’ and ‘110 Hannover – In the Police’s Sights’ also providing plenty of excitement.

Season six sees a reunion with the A&E teams at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Berlin, the Sana Hospital in Düsseldorf-Benrath, Kaufbeuren Hospital, the Sana Clinics in Lübeck, the Municipal Clinics in Mönchengladbach, Rostock University Hospital and Saarbrücken Hospital. New additions include Füssen Hospital, the Evangelical Hospitals in Hattingen and Herne, and the Cellitinnen Hospital St. Petrus in Wuppertal.
