WER IST DEUTSCHLANDS SUPERHIRN? starts on 27 August

In the spring, Sat.1 announced a new quiz show entitled “Who is Germany’s Superbrain?”. It will be presented – how could it be otherwise? – by Jörg Pilawa, Germany’s number one quizmaster, who has been presenting “Das 1% Quiz” for the channel since 2023. The start date for the new programme featuring him has now been confirmed: it will be broadcast from 27 August in the established quiz slot on Thursdays at 8.15 pm.

The concept: In ‘Who is Germany’s Superbrain?’, the cognitive abilities of 50 contestants are put to the test. Round after round, they must work their way inwards through six circles that get progressively smaller. Only those who excel in the six subject areas – logic, memory, spatial reasoning, visual perception, arithmetic and language – stand a chance of being crowned Germany’s ‘Superbrain’. Anyone who answers too few questions correctly – and thus demonstrates the weakest cognitive abilities – is eliminated. In the final, the two strongest players face off in the last circle, competing for victory and a cash prize of up to 50,000 euros.

‘Who is Germany’s Superbrain?’ is the German adaptation of the French original ‘Le Dernier Cercle’, developed by Satisfaction – The Television Agency and distributed by Warner Bros. International Television. The German adaptation is produced by Tresor TV for Sat.1.
