The German Entertainment Award (DEA) will be presented for the fifth time on 18 June 2026 in Cologne by the Entertainment Section of the Production Alliance. The nominees have now been announced in the categories Best Development, Best Adaptation, Best Short Form (NEW) and VFF Best Talent. In addition, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW will once again present the Entertainment Special Prize.

Active entertainment production companies based in Germany were able to submit their own entertainment formats in the Best Development and Best Adaptation categories, as well as talent in the VFF Best Talent Editorial and VFF Best Talent Production categories. For the Best Short Form category, the format had to have been produced by companies or sole traders (creators/collectives) based in Germany. The 10-member panel, chaired by Rolf Hellgardt (Managing Director of Prime Productions), reviewed all submissions at its meeting on 28 April 2026 and agreed on three nominees in the “Best Adaptation” category. All members of the Production Alliance’s Entertainment Section are now invited to vote for their favourites.
